Dr. George Stretch, D.N., L.Ac., D.A.A.P.M., D.N.B.A.O.
Dr. George Stretch graduated from Wright College (A.A.) Associates of Arts in 1973. He graduated with his first Doctorate of Naprapathic Medicine from the Chicago National College of Naprapathy (D.N.) in 1988. He then continued his education and graduated from the Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine (Ac.T,L.Ac.) in 1992. He did his internship, residency in Acupuncture with the Department of Anesthesiology at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois; performing acupuncture at the Out Patient Pain Clinic.
Currently Dr. Stretch is in the process of pursuing his second Doctorate (D.A.O.M.) Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco, California. Completion of his second Doctorate will be in March of 2011.
Dr. Stretch holds three National Board Certifications; A Diplomate (D.A.A.P.M.) with the American Academy of Pain Management. A Diplomate (D.N.B.A.O.) National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics which was achieved at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. He also holds a Board Certification through the National Board of Naprapathic Examiners. He keeps current with continuing education on a yearly basis by attending seminars in advanced medicine with Associations that he holds membership with.
Dr. George Stretch is currently a member in good standing with the American Naprapathic Association, Illinois Naprapathic Association, American Academy of Pain Management, (AAAOM) American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a member of the American Association of Pain Management Practitioners and a recommended provider of the Fibromyalgia Network.
On August 26, 2004, Dr. Stretch "Pioneering Naprapathy" into the 21st Century by being the "first" Naprapath to be on staff with privileges at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates, IL. Six months later Dr. Stretch successfully completed the second part of his vision by being the "first" Acupuncturist on staff at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Dr. Stretch is currently on faculty and teaches in the Acupuncture / Oriental Medicine Program at the National University of Health Sciences located in Lombard, IL.
Dr. Stretch was the President of the American Naprapathic Association from 1999 to 2007. He taught as an instructor at the Chicago National College of Naprapathy (Accessory Techniques and Therapeutics, Clinical Orthopedic and Neurological Evaluation) for ten years. Dr. Stretch also sat on the board of the Chicago National College of Naprapathy as a director for ten years.
Dr. Stretch was a team doctor for A.A.U. (Amateur Athletic Union) sanctioned Elgin Sharks Track Club. Founder of 'Team Naprapathy' for the American Naprapathic Association’s Sports Medicine Team.
Dr. Stretch also does yearly public speaking for disease foundations, such as, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Fibromyalgia Network and holds public speaking engagements at St. Alexius Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital.
Dr. Stretch has authored several articles for the Journal of the American Naprapathic Association. Dr. Stretch conducts hands on workshops for Naprapaths such as "Practice Solution Seminars" and "Differential Diagnosis” Continuing Education Seminars.
Dr. Stretch has been in practice for 22 years in Elgin, Illinois and networks with over 20 physicians in various specialties such as; Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Neuro-Surgery, Sports Medicine and Dentistry.
